Casa Selva

Situated within the natural contours of the step and dip terrain, amongst the dense pine and cedrus deodar trees. Casa Selva, is a villa with fluid geometries. It's form comes from the natural topography - a building that emerges from the landscape, while remaining partially embedded in the hillside, yet floating above the ground with a dynamic view overlooking the forest.

In order to reduce the impact of the structure’s massing and to preserve site lines, the villa settles into the ground and overhanging roofs are planted with tall native plantation.

The general design concept is to extend the exterior topography with the interiors of the building, while geometrical definition is derived from the surrounding environment of the flowing terrain levels stretched to generate the new landscape, creating continuous integration between interior and exterior spaces.

Casa Selva is organised vertically, on two levels. The lower level is envisioned as leisure space and includes, a living room, dining space, kitchen, family and entertainment room with an outdoor jacuzzi.

One level up, are the master bedrooms and a lounge with an exterior terrace garden. The main entrance lobby, study/library, guest room(s) and children’s room are distributed on the ground floor.

Passing through the entry grove of Casa Selva, one can see distant views between and over the various natural elements used. Drawn into the widening view, leading to the large terrace surrounding by the tree-lined forest.
